Hand-drawn pen & ink rendering of the historic and scenic Chateau de Chillon, a medieval island castle located on Lake Geneva, south of Veytaux in the Swiss canton of Vaud near Montreux.

Having been inspired by the story of François Bonivard after a visit to the castle, Lord Byron wrote a poem entitled The Prisoner of Chillon in 1816 about François. Byron supposedly carved his name on a pillar of the dungeon. I have a photo of that pillar.
